Minutes of the Feburary 2005 Supervisors' MeetingThe Silver Lake Township Supervisors held their regular monthly meeting on Monday, February 7, 2005 at the Silver Lake Township building. Terrence Dugan called the meeting to order at 7:30 pm and everyone saluted the Flag. The minutes from the January meeting were read and approved with a correction regarding a resolution for the Northern Tier Coalition Comprehensive Plan. The resolution that was approved at the January meeting pertained to zoning only and not the adoption of the Comprehensive Plan. Tom Swan made a motion to accept the minutes with the correction, Terry Dugan seconded, approved. The Treasurer’s report was read, approved and held for audit on a motion made by Tom Swan and seconded by Terry Dugan. Public Comment: A resident asked if the ownership of the old township building has been transferred to the Fire Company. The transfer was complete about two weeks ago. A resident asked if there was an update on cell towers. I.W.A. just can’t seem to get an takers. A meeting is being set up for April which will include State Representatives and hopeful they can be of assistance and getting those going. Terry Dugan read a resolution to adopt the Multi-municipality Comprehensive Plan with the Northern Tier Coalition. Tom Swan made a motion to accept the resolution as read, Terry Dugan seconded, approved. The next step will be zoning and all twelve members of the Northern Tier Coalition have elected to go ahead with zoning. Chief Michael Hornak gave the police report. There were sixteen reportable incidents for the month along with several accidents, DUI’s and various training. Tom Swan gave the road report. January was very busy month for plowing. Approximately 1,700 gallons of fuel was used in two weeks time. There was also equipment problems. The new truck should be ready in a couple of weeks. Tom did a walk through with Milnes Engineering for East Wilkes Barre Turnpike. The project should be ready for bidding in early spring. Tom Swan made a motion to advertise for road materials, cinders, and sluice pipes. Terry Dugan seconded, approved. No building permits were issued in the month of Janaury. Sandy Payne made a motion to pay the bills as submitted, Tom Swan seconded, approved. As no further business was presented, Terry Dugan made a motion to adjourn the meeting, Tom Swan seconded, approved.
