Minutes of the May 2005 Supervisors' Meeting

The Silver Lake Township Supervisors held their regular monthly meeting on Monday May 2, 2005 at the Silver Lake Township Building. Terrence Dugan called the meeting to order at 7:30 pm and everyone saluted the Flag.

Tom Swan made a motion to accept the minutes as read, Terry Dugan seconded, approved. The Treasurer’s report was read, approved and held for audit on motion made by Tom Swan and seconded by Terry Dugan.

There were no public comments.

Terry Dugan read Resolution No. 105-05 for Emergency Operations Plan. This Plan is updated yearly with any necessary personnel changes. Tom Swan made a motion to pass the Emergency Operations Plan, Terry Dugan seconded, approved.

At April’s meeting Terry Dugan read a resolution to advertise for an ordinance requiring sewage permits be obtained be any building permit can be issued. Tom Swan made a motion to adopt this ordinance on behalf of COG, Terry Dugan seconded, approved.

Chief Michael Hornak gave the police report. There were 14 reportable incidents for the month of April. The police reports are now being published in the Susquehanna County Transcript.

Tom Swan gave the road report. Ryan Road and Meehan Road projects have been completed by 2 local contractors. The bid package for the East Wilkes Barre Turnpike project will be reviewed this week and then will be advertised. Tom explained the PennDOT has changed their rates for the Agility Projects. It is not feasible for Silver Lake Township to be in agility anymore. A letter will be sent to PennDOT stating that Silver Lake will no longer participate in the Agility Program.

Three building permits were issued during the month of April.

Terry Dugan made a motion to pay the bills as submitted, Tom Swan seconded, approved. As no further business was presented, Terry Dugan made a motion to adjourn the meeting.
