Minutes of the July 2005 Supervisors' Meeting

The Silver Lake Township Supervisors held their regular monthly meeting on Tuesday July 5, 2005 at the Silver Lake Township Building. Terrence Dugan called the meeting to order at 7:30 pm and everyone saluted the Flag.

Tom Swan made a motion to accept the minutes as read, Terry Dugan seconded, approved. The Treasurer’s report was read, approved and held for audit on motion made by Tom Swan and seconded by Terry Dugan.

Public Comment: A resident commented on how nice Lake Front Road is. It was asked what the status was on SR 4002 from Murphy’s Corners to Choconut. Tom Swan explained that as far as he knows the project is still on the schedule for sometime in the Fall.

Terry Dugan read the Road Renaming Ordinance which was advertised. The roads that needed renaming to help the 911 Communication Center was taken care of some time ago and the ordinance is just a formality. Terry Dugan made a motion to pass the ordinance as read, Tom Swan seconded, approved.

Chief Michael Hornak gave the police report with 19 reportable incidents for the month of June.

Tom Swan gave the road report. East Wilkes-Barre Road project bids were opened and all the bids were over the grant amount. The engineer is reviewing the bids. The project may have to be rebid.

Tom Swan spoke regarding the purchasing of a new loader. The current load is extremely unsafe. Sandy Payne made a motion to advertise for bids for a 2005 loader, Terry Dugan seconded, approved.

Tom Swan made a motion to advertise for fuels for next year – On-Road Diesel, Unleaded Gasoline, and Heating Oil for the garage. Terry Dugan seconded, approved.

One building permit was issued during the month of June.

Tom Swan made a motion to pay the bills as submitted, Terry Dugan seconded, approved. As no further business was presented, Terry Dugan made a motion to adjourn the meeting Tom Swan seconded, approved.
