Minutes of the December 2005 Supervisors' Meeting

The Silver Lake Township Supervisors held their regular monthly meeting on Monday, December 5, 2005 at the Silver Lake Township building. Terrence Dugan called the meeting to order at 7:30 pm. Everyone saluted the Flag.

Tom Swan made a motion to accept the minutes as read, Terry Dugan seconded, approved. The Treasurer’s report was read, approved and held for audit on motion made by Tom Swan and seconded by Terry Dugan.

Public Comment.

Terry Dugan read a resolution to take the Planning Commission members from nine back to the original seven, Tom Swan seconded, approved.

Terry Dugan spoke regarding the Speed Regulation Ordinance. Due to the fact that the month was spent working on the 2006 Budget the road study did not get done. Terry Dugan made a motion to table the ordinance, Tom Swan seconded, approved.

Terry Dugan spoke regarding the Police Department. Silver Lake is looking into the possibility of a regional police force with Franklin and Liberty Townships. This would be on a contractual basis. The two townships are looking into it for 2007.

Tom Swan made a motion to advertise to sell the Army truck, Terry Dugan seconded, approved.

Chief Michael Hornak gave the police report. There were 16 reportable incidents for the month of November.

Tom Swan gave the road report. Trying to work on roads that seem to be having water problems.

There were no assessment permits issued during the month of November.

Terry Dugan presented the 2006 Budget. There will be a .5 mill increase. The Budget for 2006 will be adopted at a Special Meeting on Thursday, December 29, 2005 at 10:00 am. The budget will be advertised and will be available for inspection.

Sandy Payne made a motion to pay the bills as submitted, Terry Dugan seconded, approved.

As no further business was presented, Terry Dugan made a motion to adjourn the meeting.
