Minutes of the February 2006 Supervisors' Meeting

The Silver Lake Township Supervisors held their regular monthly meeting on Monday, February 6, 2006 at the Silver Lake Township building. Terry Dugan called the meeting to order at 7:30 pm and everyone saluted the Flag.

Tom Swan made a motion to accept the minutes as read, Terry Dugan seconded, approved. The Treasurer’s report was read, approved and held for audit on motion made by Tom Swan and seconded by Terry Dugan.

Public Comment: A resident asked what the status was on purchasing the building. Terry explained that due to the time spent in working on the 2006 budget there hasn’t been time to work on it.

Sandy Payne made a motion to reappointment Anthony Trecoske, Steve Whitmore and Brian Gardner to the Silver Lake Planning Commission, Terry Dugan seconded, approved.

Tom Swan made a motion to appoint Jim Baldwin to the Silver Lake Municipal Authority. Mr. Baldwin will be replacing Norman Mahoney who did not want to be reappointed.

Terry Dugan made a motion to appoint Marion O’Malley as the Township Solicitor, Tom Swan seconded, approved.

Police Sergeant Tim Burgh gave the police report with 21 reportable incidents during the month of January.

Tom Swan gave the road report.

Terry Dugan spoke regarding the Speed Regulation Ordinance. The speed limit on the majority of the township roads will be 35 mph. All roads will be posted with the speed limits. Terry Dugan made a motion to advertise the ordinance, Tom Swan seconded, approved. The ordinance will be adopted at the next meeting.

Tom Swan gave information for the purchase of a new dump truck. The repairs on the older trucks are exceeding the yearly payment amount on a new truck. Tom Swan made a motion to purchase a 2006 International dump truck, Terry Dugan seconded approved. Terry Dugan made a motion to pass resolution for a 2% loan from the Governor’s Center for Local Government for the purchase of the new truck, Tom Swan seconded, approved.

There were no assessment permits issued during the month of January.

Sandy Payne made a motion to pay the bills as submitted, Terry Dugan seconded, approved. As no further business was presented, Terry Dugan made a motion to adjourn the meeting.
