Minutes of the May 2006 Supervisors' MeetingThe Silver Lake Township Supervisors held their regular monthly meeting on Monday, May 1, 2006 at the Silver Lake Township building. Terry Dugan called the meeting to order at 7:30 pm and everyone saluted the Flag. Tom Swan made a motion to accept the minutes as read, Terry Dugan seconded, approved. The Treasurer’s report was read, approved and held for audit on a motion made by Terry Dugan and seconded by Tom Swan. Terry Dugan read a resolution to advertise our continuing membership with COG, Tom Swan seconded, approved. Terry Dugan read a Notice of Violation resolution in regards to Ordinance No. 40 Nuisance, Junk and Junkyard Ordinance. Terry made a motion to accept the resolution as read, Tom Swan seconded, approved. Terry read a resolution establishing a Hearing Fee in the event the individual violating Ordinance No. 40 wants a hearing, Tom Swan seconded, approved. Terry Dugan read a resolution establishing a rate for anyone who would require a copy of an ordinance. The fee is $5.00 plus postage. Tom Swan seconded, approved. Terry Dugan approved a request from Kevin Duke for a permit for July 4th fireworks. Mr. Duke will need to provide the township with his permit. Chief Michael Hornak gave the police report with 20 reportable incidents in April. Chief Hornak also read a bulletin regarding a program that will run through the first of June for seatbelt use. Tom Swan gave the road report. Roads are being graded and material is being put down on roads that had a lot of sink holes. Stone and oil project for East Wilkes Barre Turnpike has been put on hold at the moment. Tom is working with Fahs to get the issue resolved. Tom Swan gave an update on the cell tower project. Norteast Telephone plans on putting up cell towers and is in communication with TSS who has all the site locations for our area. Tom Swan opened the road project bids:
The bids will be reviewed before a final decision is made. Three Assessment Permits were issued for the month of April. Tom Swan made a motion to pay the bills as submitted, Terry Dugan seconded, approved. As no further business was presented, Terry Dugan made a motion to adjourn the meeting.
