Minutes of the June 2006 Supervisors' MeetingThe Silver Lake Township Supervisors held their regular monthly meeting on Monday, June 5, 2006 at the Silver Lake Township building. Terry Dugan called the meeting to order at 7:30 pm and everyone saluted the Flag. Tom Swan made a motion to accept the minutes as read, Terry Dugan seconded, approved. The Treasurer’s report was read, approved and held for audit on a motion made by Terry Dugan and seconded by Tom Swan. Public Comment: A resident spoke regarding a high power electrical line that may be going through Susquehanna County. Terry Dugan spoke regarding the vacant EMC position. This position
was previously held by John McNamara who had to resign due to health reasons. Evan
Everitt has agreed to accept this position. Hugh Holland will remain
as the EMC deputy. Terry Dugan read the Ordinance to reestablish our membership with COG. Tom Swan made a motion to pass the ordinance as read, Terry Dugan seconded, approved. Chief Michael Hornak gave the police report with 25 reportable incidents. Terry Dugan read 2 requests for fireworks permits from Nick Demaree and Justin Demaree. Tom Swan made a motion to sign the permits, Terry Dugan seconded approved. Tom Swan gave the road report. Roads are being graded, raked and rolled as weather permits. As part of the Northern Tier Coalition and the leaf composting program, Silver Lake as purchased a truck load of composted material for residents to take for the gardens. Tom asked that residents not take pickup truck loads. Conaty Construction and G’s Excavating were awarded the road projects as they were the lowest bidders. There were no assessment permits issued during the month of May. Tom Swan made a motion to pay the bills as submitted, Terry Dugan seconded, approved. As no further business was presented, Terry Dugan made a motion to adjourn the meeting.
