Minutes of the June 2007 Supervisors' Meeting

The Silver Lake Township Supervisors held their regular monthly meeting on Monday, June 4, 2007 at the Silver Lake Township Building.  Tom Swan called the meeting to order at 7:30 pm and everyone saluted the Flag.

Terry Dugan made a motion to accept the minutes with the correction regarding cell towers.  There will be four zones and five towers in each zone.  Tom Swan seconded, approved.  The Treasurer’s report was read, approved and held for audit on a motion made by Terry Dugan and seconded by Tom Swan.

Public Comment:  It was asked about the status on the building purchase.  There has been no answer yet from TNT Partnership.  Terry said that inquiries will continue to be made. 

Terry Dugan read a resolution to sign on to the Susquehanna County Hazard Mitigation Plan.  Without this plan if there is an emergency in any of the noted problem areas within Silver Lake we will not be able to receive any additional funding.  Terry Dugan made a motion to adopt the resolution as read, Tom Swan seconded, approved.

Terry Dugan read a resolution from Claverack Electric for their annual meeting appointing Tom Swan as the voting member, Sandy Payne seconded, approved.

Terry Dugan read a resolution regarding salary increases for the Police Chief and the Police Sergeant.

Terry Dugan read a resolution for Silver Lake Township to pay a maximum of $175 towards health insurance for full-time township employees, Tom Swan seconded, approved.

There were several requests for fireworks permits.  Nick Demaree with two dates – June 16 and July 4.  Kevin Duke for July 4 and the Fire Company for their field days to be held on July 14.  All permits were approved on a motion made by Terry Dugan and seconded by Tom Swan.

Chief Michael Hornak  gave the police report with 25 reportable incidents during the month of May.

Tom Swan gave the road report.  Approximately half the roads are done.  Permits have been approved by DEP for debris removal in creeks. One Assessment Permit was issued during the month of May.

Tom Swan made a motion to pay the bills as submitted, Sandy Payne seconded, approved.  As no further business was presented, Tom Swan made a motion to adjourn the meeting.
