Minutes of the July 2007 Supervisors' MeetingThe Silver Lake Township Supervisors held their regular monthly meeting on Monday, July 2, 2007 at the Silver Lake Township Building. Tom Swan called the meeting to order at 7:30 pm and everyone saluted the Flag. Terry Dugan made a motion to accept the minutes as read, Tom Swan seconded, approved. The Treasurer’s report was read and held for audit on a motion made by Tom Swan and seconded by Terry Dugan. Public Comment: Kevin Smith attended the meeting with several other residents regarding traffic on SR 4002 around the Quaker Lake area. Tom Swan explained that was a PennDOT road and any changes would have to be made through them. It was suggested that perhaps a crosswalk could be put in and then the crosswalk laws could be enforced. Sergeant Tim Burgh explained that have to be given a grace of 10 over the speed limit before they can be stopped. The majority of the traffic stops in June were in the Quaker Lake area. Richard Demaree attended the meeting and had several concerns regarding a house to be built near him. Terry Dugan explained to him that COG is responsible for all UCC building permits and suggested he contact them as well as attend the Planning Commission meeting for his answers. Sergeant Tim Burgh gave the police report with 64 reportable incidents for the month of June. Tom Swan gave the road report. Roads are almost finished for the season. With it being a dry summer dust has a problem. The salt brine isn’t doing much to keep the dust down. Terry Dugan explained that the township is looking into purchasing a new flail mower. Tom Swan made a motion to advertise for the sale of the current mower, Terry Dugan seconded, approved. No assessment permits were issued in June. Tom Swan made a motion to pay the bills as submitted, Terry Dugan seconded, approved. As no further business was presented, Tom Swan made a motion to adjourn the meeting.
