Minutes of the October 2007 Supervisors' MeetingThe Silver Lake Township Supervisors held their regular monthly meeting on Monday, October 1, 2007 at the Silver Lake Township Building. Tom Swan called the meeting to order at 7:30 pm and everyone saluted the Flag. Tom Swan made a motion to accept the minutes as read, Terry Dugan seconded, approved. The Treasurer’s report was read and held for audit on a motion made by Tom Swan and seconded by Terry Dugan. Public Comment: it was asked what the status is on cell towers. Tom Swan explained that there will be six towers going up in the area. One of the towers will be located on Pop’s Hobby Lake Road. Terry Dugan read a resolution provided by the county to update our existing Emergency Operations Plan. Tom Swan made a motion to sign the resolution as read, Terry Dugan seconded, approved. Terry Dugan explained the township needed a NIMS (National Incident Management System) Coordinator to work with the county officials in the event of an emergency. Terry Dugan made a motion to appoint Sandy Payne as the NIMS Coordinator, Tom Swan seconded, approved. Terry Dugan summarized an Ordinance relating to transfer tax. This new Ordinance which the county is requesting will update the existing Ordinance. Tom Swan made a motion to advertise the Ordinance, Terry Dugan seconded, approved. Chief Michael Hornak gave the police report with 49 reportable incidents for the month of September. Tom Swan gave the road report. A bulldozer has been rented to complete a few road projects. Winter road salt will be ordered. Two assessment permits were issued in September. Tom Swan made a motion to pay the bills as submitted, Terry Dugan seconded, approved. As no further business was presented, Tom Swan made a motion to adjourn the meeting.
