Minutes of the February 2008 Supervisors' MeetingThe Silver Lake Township Supervisors held their regular monthly meeting on Monday, February 4, 2008 at the Silver Lake Township Building. Terry Dugan called the meeting to order at 7:30 pm and everyone saluted the Flag. Tom Swan made a motion to accept the minutes as read, Terry Dugan seconded, approved. The Treasurer’s report was read and held for audit on a motion made by Tom Swan and seconded by Terry Dugan. Public Comment: It was asked what the duties of the Police Commissioner were. It was explained that it is just a title. The individual works with the Police Department in developing their budget as well as keeping track of the number of incidents that occur in the township and any other items that may come up during the year. There is no pay of this position. A resident asked what part COG play in the event zoning is approved. Tom Swan explained that the executive board of the Northern Tier Coalition will be the one to hire the zoning officer and he will work out of the COG office. Anyone that would need a UCC building permit and/or sewer permit will be able to take care of everything in one office. Terry Dugan gave the police report with 20 reportable incidents for the month of December. Tom Swan gave the road report. Additional anti-skid material had to be purchased. A meeting had been set up with Claverack to move the poles on Kennedy Road. Claverack would charge $1,000 per pole. A meeting will be set up with the residents on the road to discuss options for the road project. No assessment permits issued in January. Tom Swan made a motion to pay the bills as submitted, Terry Dugan seconded, approved. As no further business was presented, Tom Swan made a motion to adjourn the meeting.
