Minutes of the March 2008 Supervisors' Meeting

The Silver Lake Township Supervisors held their regular monthly meeting on Monday, March 3, 2008 at the Silver Lake Township Building.  Terry Dugan called the meeting to order at 7:30 pm and everyone saluted the Flag.

Tom Swan made a motion to accept the minutes as read, Terry Dugan seconded, approved.  The Treasurer’s report was read and held for audit on a motion made by Tom Swan and seconded by Terry Dugan.

There were no public comments.

Terry Dugan spoke regarding an ordinance for the township building purchase.  The preliminary survey has been done and there are a few issues that need to be worked out.  Terry Dugan made a motion to advertise the Mortgage Ordinance for the purchase of the current township building for $210,000, Tom Swan seconded, approved.  The ordinance will be adopted at a special meeting on March 7. 

Terry Dugan read a resolution for public meetings on zoning.  Silver Lake will host a meeting on Tuesday, April 29 at 7:00 pm.  Tom Swan made a motion to pass the resolution as read, Terry Dugan seconded, approved.

A representative from the Board of Supervisors needs to be appointed to a new county Watershed Advisory Committee.  Tom Swan made a motion to appoint Sandy Payne, Terry Dugan seconded, approved.

Terry Dugan spoke regarding a cinder building reconstruction project.  Tom Swan made a motion to advertisement for the project, Terry Dugan seconded, approved.

Chief Michael Hornak gave the police report with 24 reportable incidents for the month of February. 

Tom Swan gave the road report.  Additional anti-skid material has been purchased.  This has been a terrible year as far as ice.

No assessment permits issued in February.

Tom Swan made a motion to pay the bills as submitted, Terry Dugan seconded, approved.  As no further business was presented, Tom Swan made a motion to adjourn the meeting.
