Minutes of the April 2008 Supervisors' Meeting

The Silver Lake Township Supervisors held their regular monthly meeting on Monday, April 7, 2008 at the Silver Lake Township Building.  Terry Dugan called the meeting to order at 7:30 pm and everyone saluted the Flag.

Tom Swan made a motion to accept the minutes as read, Terry Dugan seconded, approved.  The Treasurer’s report was read and held for audit on a motion made by Tom Swan and seconded by Terry Dugan.

Public Comment:  Kevin Smith handed out information regarding SR4002 in the Quaker Lake vicinity.  They asked for a traffic study to be done in the area and in order for PennDOT to conduct the study, a request must come from the Supervisors. There was also a complaint about 4-wheeler activity.  It was asked what the status is on the 911 readdressing.  The town of Susquehanna was to be released first and the rest would follow. 

Public meetings have been scheduled for the proposed Zoning Ordinance.  Silver Lake will host a meeting scheduled for April 29.  Meetings have been advertised in various newspapers. 

The Silver Lake Volunteer Fire Company has requested a fireworks permit for their Field Days.  Fireworks will be July 12 with a rain date of July 13. 

Terry Dugan made a motion to advertise the 1986 green pickup for sale, Tom Swan seconded, approved.  The bids will be opened at the May meeting. 

Tom Swan gave the road report.  The currently stone and oiled roads will receive an fresh coat and potholes repaired.  There are a few driveways on Kennedy Road that residents will need to fix before that project is started.   There were no bids received for the cinder building project.

There was one Assessment Permit issued in March.

The police department was in training.  Terry Dugan read the report they left with 14 reportable incidents for the month of March.

Sandy Payne made a motion to pay the bills as submitted, Terry Dugan seconded, approved.  As no further business was presented, Tom Swan made a motion to adjourn the meeting.
