Minutes of the May 2008 Supervisors' MeetingThe Silver Lake Township Supervisors held their regular monthly meeting on Monday, May 5, 2008 at the Silver Lake Township Building. Tom Swan called the meeting to order at 7:30 pm and everyone saluted the Flag. Tom Swan made a motion to accept the minutes with the following correction: after the April meeting one bid had been discovered on the desk in the garage area. The bid was from Mark Tims in the amount of $18,340 for the reconstruction of the cinder building. Tom Swan made a motion to accept this bid, Sandy Payne seconded, approved. The Treasurer report was read and held for audit on a motion made by Tom Swan and seconded by Sandy Payne. Public Comment: There have been some very good comments received from residents regarding changes to the proposed zoning ordinance. A number of the changes will be implemented. There will be a special meeting for the proposed zoning ordinance for Silver Lake Township. Bill Fischer spoke regarding the gas leases and recommended township roads be bonded in case there is any damage to township roads. Tom Swan spoke regarding a traffic study request on SR 4002 in the Quaker Lake area. A meeting was held with representatives from PennDOT , the Supervisors and the Police Department and a traffic study was requested. PennDOT will notify the township when they have completed their study and will make recommendations. Three bids were received for the 1986 green pickup truck. Ed Nowik -- $400; Joe Nagy -- $535; Evan Everitt -- $625.42. The truck went to Mr. Everitt. Kevin Duke has requested a permit for fireworks for July 4th on Russell Road. Tom Swan made a motion to approve the request, Sandy Payne seconded, approved. Chief Michael Hornak gave the police report with 30 reportable incidents for the month of April. Tom Swan gave the road report. Spring road work has begun. One Assessment Permit was issued in the month of April. Tom Swan made a motion to pay the bills as submitted, Sandy Payne seconded, approved. As no further business was presented, Tom Swan made a motion to adjourn the meeting.
