The Silver Lake Township Supervisors held their regular monthly meeting on Tuesday, September 2, 2008 at the Silver Lake Township Building.  Terry Dugan called the meeting to order at 7:30 pm and everyone saluted the Flag.

Tom Swan made a motion to accept the minutes as read, Terry Dugan seconded, approved.  The Treasurer’s report was read, approved and held for audit on a motion made by Tom Swan and seconded by Terry Dugan.

Public comment:  It was asked if there was any word on the traffic study at Laurel Lake.  Chief Michael Hornak said PennDOT had been in the Laurel Lake area working on it.  A resident asked if an additional 25 mph sign could be put up on John C McNamara Drive by Laurel Lake.

Terry Dugan read a resolution regarding joining the county for the hazard mitigation plan.  This plan will be approved by FEMA and will help the county and townships with any natural disasters in the future.  Terry made a motion to approve the resolution, Tom Swan seconded, approved. 

Chief Michael Hornak read the police report with 41 reportable incidents for the month of August. 

Tom Swan gave the road report.  Mohoney road project has been completed.  Ditches are scheduled to be cleaned next.  Stone and oil projects have been put on hold due to cost. 

Tom Swan made a motion to advertise to sell the 1984 International dumptruck, Terry Dugan seconded, approved. 

Three Assessment Permits were issued in August.

Terry Dugan spoke regarding the Ad Hoc committee consisting of Silver Lake Township residents and the Silver Lake Township Planning Commission.  The residents that have accepted to work on the committee are: Larry Harvilchuck, John Norton, Francis Fruehan, Jen Gregory, Peg Miller.  This committee will work together to redraft the proposed zoning ordinance.

Tom Swan made a motion to pay the bills as submitted, Sandy Payne seconded, approved.  As no further business was presented, Terry Dugan adjourned the meeting.
