Minutes of the December 2008 Supervisors' MeetingThe Silver Lake Township Supervisors held their regular monthly meeting on Monday, December 1, 2008 at the Silver Lake Township building. Tom Swan called the meeting to order at 7:30 pm and everyone saluted the Flag. Tom Swan made a motion to accept the minutes as read, Sandy Payne seconded, approved. The Treasurer’s report was read and held for audit on a motion made by Tom Swan and seconded by Sandy Payne. There were no public comments. Chief Michael Hornak gave the police report with 35 reportable incidents for the month of November. Tom Swan gave the road report. There was a meeting with PennDOT for the agility program. The township would mow along the state roads in exchange for PennDOT recoating the stone and oil roads. There were no assessment permits issued in November. Tom Swan made a motion to pay the bills as submitted, Sandy Payne seconded, approved. As no further business was presented Tom Swan adjourned the meeting.
The Silver Lake Township Supervisors held a work session for the 2009 budget on Monday, November 10, 2008 at 9:00 AM. Eleven residents attended the work session. The preliminary figures were reviewed. Tom Swan said there would be no major road projects for 2009 and roads would be plowed with 3 trucks instead of 4 this winter. Tom said the township is very fortunate to have such dedicated employees. At 10:40 am Terry Dugan called the special meeting to order and everyone saluted the Flag. The purpose of the special meeting was to present the 2009 budget. Copies of the budget were handed out. Tom Swan made a motion to advertise the budget as presented, Terry Dugan seconded, approved. The 2009 budget will be available for inspection at the Silver Lake Township building.
