Minutes of the April 2009 Supervisors' Meeting

The Silver Lake Township Supervisors held their regular monthly meeting on Monday, April 6, 2009 at the Silver Lake Township building. Tom Swan called the meeting to order at 7:30 pm and everyone saluted the Flag.

Tom Swan made a motion to accept the minutes as read, Sandy Payne seconded, approved.  The Treasurer report was read and held for audit on a motion made by Tom Swan and seconded by Sandy Payne.

Fran Fruehan had a question regarding the Right-to-Know Law.  If some just wants to look at a document, does the Right-to-Know form still need to be filled out?  It has always been the policy of Silver Lake Township to make documents readily available to its residents and if someone just wants to see a document then the form is probably not required.

John Demaree asked what the road work status was on Barney Road.  There is a section that has potholes.  Tom Swan explained that as soon as the frost is out of the roads, the roadwork will begin.

There was no police report.  They were in training.  A letter was received from the Nowik family thanking the police department for their help in patrolling the road and being watchful over their properties.  They had a death in the family and had received numerous hang up calls.

Tom Swan gave the road report.  Annual roadwork will begin as soon as the frost has finished coming out of the road.  Tom opened the bids received for road materials and fuels.  Three bids were received for road materials – State Aggregates, Montrose Materials and Damascus Quarries.  There were three bids received for various fuels – Williams Oil & Propane, Paraco, and Mirabito Fuel Group.  There were no bids received for the sale of the blue Ford pickup truck.  All bids will be carefully reviewed before a decision is made.

There were no assessment permits issued in March.

Tom Swan made a motion to pay the bills as submitted, Sandy Payne seconded, approved.  As no further business was presented Tom Swan adjourned the meeting.
