Minutes of the October 2009 Supervisors' MeetingThe Silver Lake Township Supervisors held their regular monthly meeting on Monday, October 5, 2009 at the Silver Lake Township building. Tom Swan called the meeting to order at 7:30 pm and everyone saluted the Flag. Tom Swan made a motion to accept the minutes as read, Sandy Payne seconded, approved. The Treasurer report was read and held for audit on a motion made by Tom Swan and seconded by Sandy Payne. Public Comment: Mrs. Kublo asked how many hours the police spent in Franklin Township. Chief Burgh answered the question and said they have spent 18 hours a week. No additional officers were hired and there is no overtime. Chief Burgh gave the police report with eleven reportable incidents in Silver Lake Township. Chief Burgh introduced Officer Dennis Moore who was hired in the spring. Tom Swan gave the road report. The grader has been down. PennDOT is also having equipment problems and this had delayed the agility program for the stone/oil road project. The proposed SALDO is in the final stage and is ready for advertising. There will be a Special Meeting regarding the SALDO on Monday, November 2, at 7:00 pm. Sandy Payne made a motion to advertise the proposed ordinance, Tom Swan seconded, approved. Tom Swan gave the road report and read a letter received from PennDot regarding the traffic study done on SR 4002 at Laurel Lake. PennDOT does not feel it is necessary to reduce the speed limit in that area. Three assessment permits were issued in September. Tom Swan made a motion to pay the bills as submitted, Sandy Payne seconded, approved. As no further business was presented Tom Swan adjourned the meeting.
