Minutes of the November 2009 Supervisors' MeetingThe Silver Lake Township Supervisors held their regular monthly meeting on Monday, November 2, 2009 at the Silver Lake Township building. Terry Dugan called the meeting to order at 7:30 pm and everyone saluted the Flag. Tom Swan made a motion to accept the minutes as read, Terry Dugan seconded, approved. The Treasurer report was read and held for audit on a motion made by Tom Swan and seconded by Terry Dugan. Terry Dugan reviewed the current budget and fund balances and said that in looking ahead at the 2010 budget it does not look like there will be a need for a tax increase. There will be a Special Meeting on November 16 at 6:00 pm to present the budget. After the budget is presented it must be advertised for 30 days before it can be adopted but according to state law must be adopted before the end of the year. Chief Burgh gave the police report with 34 reportable incidents in Silver Lake Township for the month of October. Mr. Tucker had some questions regarding the contract with Franklin Township. Chief Burgh explained the average number of hours spent in Franklin is 18. Franklin Township will make quarterly payments to Silver Lake Police Department. Tom Swan gave the road report. The stone/oil project with PennDOT has finally been completed. Evan Everitt said they have been out taking care of potholes and getting ready for winter. It was asked if the township was impacted by the state’s delay in passing a budget. This did not affect the township. Tom Swan made a motion to pay the bills as submitted, Terry Dugan seconded, approved. As no further business was presented Terry Dugan adjourned the meeting.
