Chief Mike Hornak comes to the department with years
of experience.
- Thirty-three
years of working for the IBM Corporation, including fifteen years
in people management.
- Ten years as Deputy Wildlife Conservation Officer for the PA Game

- Chief of Police of Silver Lake Township since 1997
Sergeant Tim Burgh comes to the department with years
of experience
- Ten years with the Pennsylvania Department of Corrections at S.C.I.
Waymart, two years member of their C.E.R.T. team.
- Twelve years of law enforcement - eight years with Clifford Township
Police and four years with Silver Lake Township Police
- Twelve years as an Emergency Medical Technician and two years as
an E.M.T. Supervisor for the Montrose Minute Men Ambulance
- Four years working as a drug enforcement agent for the Pennsylvania
Attorney General's Office.
- Two years experience as Senior Supervisor for the University of
Scranton Department of Public Safety and Police
- Two years as a coordinator for Professional Security Bureau heading
up the security for companies that were on strike.
- Currently on the Susquehanna County Drug/Alcohol Task Force.
Patrolman Andrew Genneken recently hired as a recent
Act 120 graduate from Lackawanna College Police Academy.
- He is currently working as a Deputy Sheriff for the Susquehanna
County Sheriffs Department.
- 4 years experience working as a 911 Dispatcher at the Susquehanna
County Communications Center.
- Currently on the Susquehanna County Drug/Alcohol Task Force.
Aimee Redd (women)(resigned)
Hired as a full time Police Officer for Scranton City Police.
Equipment
The police department currently has two patrol cars on the road. The cars
are equipped with a video camera and an A.E,D, defibrillator for
medical emergencies. Each car has a standard first aid kit, fire
extinguisher and shotgun.
Training - Annual Training in Firearms, First Aid, CPR, Police Updates
Seminars and training with various law enforcement agencies, including
Susquehanna County Sheriffs Department, Susquehanna County Probation
Department,Women's Resource Center, PA State Police, Montrose Police
Department and Susquehanna County Coroner's Office.
Training with the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco and Firearms, US Attorney's
Office, Drug Enforcement Agency, FBI, Homeland Security, Emergency
Management, Fire and Rescue Departments, PA Department of Health.
