The Silver Lake Planning Commission, Supervisors and Ad Hoc
committee met on Wednesday, October 22, 2008 at the Silver Lake Township
Building. Laurence Harvilchuck called the meeting to order at
7:30 pm.
The committee received the June 2008 edition of the proposed zoning ordinance.
Discussion continued from the tabulated results of the land-use surveys. A
number of changes were made and a few items deleted. Definitions
were carefully reviewed for clarification. Some items were labeled as
conditional. This doesn’t mean it wouldn’t be allowed
but would have to meet certain guidelines. Two additional surveys
have been returned and Mr. Harvilchuck will update the results. The
final surveys will be available to anyone that would like to review them. All
documents will be kept at the township office. It was pointed out
that perhaps a noise ordinance would help control some items that were
placed in an extreme category. There are a number of items that
will be regulated by DEP.
Chapter 5 should be reviewed. This chapter contains specific requirements
for specific uses.
